Back in Sydney

We have arrived back in Sydney. Today we went to visit my uncle’s older sister her name is Margaret. On the way to her house you get to see the Sydney opera house. We got to swim in Margaret pool for 1 and a half hours.then we had to go back home. I loved my day at Margaret’s house.

Leaving Merimbula

On Sunday afternoon we left Merimbula to fly to Syndey. When we got to Sydney we were greeted by my cousin Anthony who is letting us stay in his apartment on Bondi Beach. While we were there we swam at Bondi Beach which was very crowded as it was Sunday afternoon.

The next day we took a taxi to Sydney’s train station and rode a train to Woy Woy where my Uncle’s brother met us at the train station. He drove us to his house at Hardy’s Bay and we had lunch and then went to the surf beach to swim. After that we were exhausted so we went back to the house. Just before dinner the native birds arrived to be fed. We fed Kookaburras and Loorikeets. The Kookaburras took the meat right out of our hands!

It was a busy day but it was exciting.

At the blue pool

On Thursday the heat wave continued so we went to the blue pool which is a giant rock pool in Bermagui. When the tide is coming in there is a ledge where the waves break and you get dumped on. You can see all kinds of fish, crabs and plants in the rock pool. We had lots of fun at the blue pool

Here is a picture of the blue pool.

The second photo is me about to be dumped on.

In the evening we went out on our balcony to see the Southern Cross which are 5 stars lined up to look like a cross. The bottom star of the cross points to the south. The Aboriginals and the sailors used the Southern Cross to find their way home and see what time it was.

At the river

Today we went to the Tura Beach river. At the river the current will change direction and it will sometimes take you into the lake or the mouth  of the river which goes into the ocean. While we were at the river there were jellyfish called blue bottles. Luckily we did not get stung but we saw other people get stung. You can float up and down the river and see lots of fish. After that I had a great day at Tura Beach.

Arriving in Merimbula

Left Melbourne at 4:45a.m we got to the airport and we boarded a very small plane called Rex. We arrived in Merimbula an hour later and unpacked at our new 3 story beach house and in the house there is a glass elevator. We went for a beach walk with my uncle’s friends and dogs. On the walk we saw a large pod of dolphins swimming in the surf. After the walk we went to my uncle’s friend’s home and saw a large huntsman spider and from the balcony and saw a wild wallaby having it’s dinner. The next day we went swimming in really big waves and learned about rip tides and undertow. Later that day we went on a walk on the board walk and saw hundreds of soldier crabs.

At the Old Melbourne Goal.

In Melbourne we went to the old melbourne jail. You can pay for a tour. On the tour you get arrested and you get to see the process of the of being arrested. After the tour you can  go into the jail and see all of the jail cells. You even get to wear Ned  Kelly’s tin amour. I bet you don’t know who Ned Kelly is. Ned Kelly is a famous prisoner because he was a very successful bank robber and he wore tin amour.
When we were at my cousin’s house we went swimming in their pool and when Jack and I looked in a crack there was a red back spider chilling there so we had to kill it because it is a very poisonous spider.

After all the fun we had in Melbourne, I didn’t want to leave. My cousins were really nice and I am going to miss them.
